Welcome to the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department web site!

The department originally started in 1905 as bucket brigade to help minimize property loss due to fires. In 1907, this brigade was formally organized into the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Association. The current firehouse at 15 Noel Road was opened in the summer of 1908.

The BCVFD still operates from the very building for over 100 years. In the process of having a new facility built, the BCVFD seeks the help of the public to make this new facility a reality...

The BCVFD needs your help more than ever!!!
It has been our wish to relocate our headquarters and construct a new building suitable for our needs. In 1995 we were able to purchase a property where we would be able to build our new quarters. This new location would be removed from the congested center of town and located directly adjacent to Cross Bay Blvd thus providing a safer operating location. This new site is located on one of the highest points on our Island and would not be subject to tidal flooding that accompanies even minor storms.

Click here to read the Chief's Report or Click here to visit the HavenZone forum where you can find the contact information for your local elected officials. The BCVFD thanks you for your support. A simple phone call could help.

The BCVFD has been operating out of the same facility for over 100 years and is in desperate need of a new building. The future home of the Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department rests in the hands of you; our supporters.

We ask the supporters of the BCVFD to aid us in our time of need. Please visit the building fund page to find out how you could help the BCVFD make the new facility become a reality.
